Right to Repair scheme

The Right to Repair scheme applies only to urgent minor repairs affecting the health, safety or security of the occupant. The cost of the repair must be under £250.
Timescales for each type of qualifying repair are shown here.
Where a qualifying repair is reported, you will be given a repair notice advising when the repair must be completed by.
You will be advised that the repair you have ordered is a qualifying repair under the Right to Repair scheme.
If the repair is not completed by the stated date you can request that an alternative contractor carries out the work.
The 2nd contractor will be given the same length of time as the first contractor in order to complete the work.
If the 2nd contractor fails to carry out the work in the time stated a compensation payment of £10 will be made, and a further £2 payment will be made for each day thereafter that the repair remains incomplete, subject to a maximum payment of £50.
